The list above is the minimum that Bridge City Web Design will provide in our basic $499 web design package. That doesn't mean you have to use all those features. And over time we will add additional itmes to this list. it also means that you should ask if you don't see something listed that you would like. If it proves to be simple enough to do we may just include it in the basic package. Worst case is we will tell you what the extra cost would be and you can then decide.
This is not a gimmick or come-on or bait-and-switch. Our site, the site you are looking at right now, is built with just the items listed on this page.
How can we do this when others are charging much more. It's a combination of things. For one we partner with our customers. We provide the design of page templates, which is the key to how a site looks. You provide the content. And we use open source software. For example, this site is built on Joomla, an open-source content management system. A CMS system means that the content is saved in a database (an open source MySQL database in the case of Joomla) that is separate from the formatting of the web pages. This makes it easier to maintain and modify a web site than if everything is mashed together in a big HTML file. This means that you can do a lot of the maintenance and updating of your site by yourself without the need of an HTML expert.
We also know it is almost impossible to think of everything the first time. So we offer a 2-Step Development option. This is not an extra cost option. Sometimes you have to build a web site and live with it a while before you know what you want to add. Say you have taken advantage of our low-cost web starter package of $499 and have only created a web site with 12 pages. With the 2-Step option you can come back to us within 6 months of accepting the original web site and add up to 8 more pages and tweak the templates without any additional cost as long as what we add was offered with the original package.
Out goal is to provide you with a cost-effective web site that meets your needs. IF WE CANNOT MEET YOUR NEEDS YOU OWE US NOTHING.
